I have had ViaTalk now for 2 years, and have had a wonderful experience. I will admit that it did get a bit flaky for a bit, but once I realized that it was due to a network upgrade, I decided to stick with them. Things have been great since that upgrade, and there has not been an outage in over a year. The call quality is great, and the number of features I have no is huge. At $199 for 2 years of service, its worth a try.

When you dial you get a fast busy signal instead of a connection, a few times in a row often times, some voice mails simply are empty and don't play or are garbled (completely inaudible), calls often drop 20 seconds into call this happens almost every call, calls drops other times too, message to callers at times saying "not valid number", echoes, clicking sounds. You call customer service, wait 30 mins on hold and sometimes the call then drops again on you then too, you finally get them on the phone and they tell your device is not supported or we are working on the problem which of course never gets fixed at all. If you want cheap, you will get it with theses guys, good concept, horrible quality, you will lose friends and business over the lost calls and voice mails, not worth it. I have had the service over 6 months, gave it more than a chance, my advice, look elsewhere, I am canceling this poor service today.

ViaTalk will NOT fix my service. I saw in their forums that I'm not the only one that cannot connect a call and gets disconnected instantly when answering an incoming call. No one will even respond.

I call the customerservice 3 times without them being able to give me a promished ship date. After the 3rd phone call 3 weeks from my order date I tried to cancel. Two day after sending multiple cancel my order emails on my 4th phone call to customer service I find out they have shipped my equipment. Too late as I have signed up with Vonage. So if you want to speed up ViaTalk response then just say cancel my order. Now I will have to do battle just to return their equipment. Do not do business with ViaTalk

Lured by the buy 1yr get 1yr FREE which cost $222 w/equipment. Service just the same as vonage which was $10 more per month for their top phone package. Overall cant tell the difference from vonage or landline! well worth it.........

We had to get another phone carrier. Customer support is a nightmare--long, long, waits or depend on email which could take up to 24 hrs response. The dial tone off and on, could take 3 or more attemps before it connected. We had background noise, static, dropped call, voice mails that dropped words and couldn't understand, echos, and calls going right thru to voice mail when we were available. We had people calling us that were told it was not a working number. Altogether, it was unreliable and extremely frustrating. Without a cell phone, there were numerous times we would have had a problem. A friend called me the day my new service was installed and asked what we'd done to the phone because it was the sound was so improved. Guess we got taken.

ViaTalk emphasis their service level and features and they do deliver on them. However, whilst they offer some great features and flexibility I have found that there pricing is a bit unfair e.g. To get their $15.95 p/m unlimited calls within US & Canada deal you will need to commit to a two year contract. So, I didn't feel comfortable with this contract length and I just pay month by month which is still a pretty good deal. Overall, I am satisfied with ViaTalk.

I searched long and hard to find a voice over IP service that provides the most amount of features and most importantly the features I NEED. I decided to sign-up with ViaTalk because they offer the best voip features of any internet phone provider I have seen, hands down. On-the-go calling and tollfree voicemail has changed my life and saved me heaps of money. I use my ViaTalk account instead of my cell phone where possible. ViaTalk isn't the cheapest voip service available, BUT, if call quality and flexible features are important to you, than it's worth every cent to use ViaTalk.
