Vonage V-Phone or SkypeOut?

With the recent release of the Vonage V-Phone, a portable USB VoIP phone device that allows you use use your Vonage account on any computer with broadband internet access, people may be asking the question “Why use the Vonage V-Phone when you can just use Skype with SkypeOut?” I know I am.

Personally, I prefer Skype, but if you are on a public computer you would need to install Skype on that computer (if it isn’t already installed) and risk you account details when you log-on? As I understand it, with the Vonage V-Phone you just plug it in and go. I guess you could port Skype around on a USB device aswell, but the question still remains - why would people prefer the Vonage V-Phone?

Any thoughts/opinions?

The Vonage V-Phone is just a gimmick. It isn’t meant to be taken seriously. Skype all the way!
